I know this because my grandmother was the one who brought me into the world and she said that I entered it singing loudly! As a little girl I would sit in my yard and sing to the animals that would come out of the woods and sit and listen and play around me. I heard music in everything and everywhere. Like the water running in the stream alongside my house and the birds in the trees were my backup vocals. I loved climbing to the top of the mountain and as I sang I would listen to the echo and imagine that it was the angels chiming in with their backup parts.
Music is in everyone's heart and soul but you have to want to let it out and feel, hear and see it ! Children feel it but don't understand what it is; they just know that it feels good and makes them happy and makes them dance.
I'm walking into a grocery store and I hear singing behind me so I look and I see this little girl holding her grandmother's hand and she is singing and skipping into the store. I listen and take note of the words and it makes me smile. I quote, "I'm going to the grocery store with my beautiful grandmom on this beautiful rainy day, Oh what a beautiful rainy day". My first thought was, oh, how I wish that we all could be happy in our hearts just like this innocent little girl because it was a "crappy" rainy day. Yes, I said it was a "crappy" rainy day, but she didn't think so. Children see the best in everything and they have music in their hearts and it just comes out. This little girl made a song out of a simple errand in the rain with her beautiful grandmom, a lesson to be learned. I'm Just Sayin!
Fast forward a few days and I'm sitting at the bar at O.C. Wasabi, my favorite place in Ocean City, Md., for sushi. After I order a great Margarita, a couple of their best sushi rolls (Big Fatty J and an O.C. roll), and their Chicken Fried rice, I sit back, relax and wait. I listen and take in all the sounds around me like the many TV's behind the bar with a different sports game on every one. The buzz of the conversations of the many couples along the bar and the roaring of the traffic out on Ocean Highway. Lots and lots of sounds going on at the same time. And then I hear this guy a few seats down from me and he is coming up with a song for every few words of a conversation that he is hearing. At first I didn't understand what he was doing and then it hit me and I listened a little closer. Call it ADD, just plan crazy, or a genius? He was taking in all the sounds around him and coming up with a song from every few words. I leaned in and caught his eye and we both smiled at one another as he realized that I recognized what he was doing. That was a really cool moment in time and the smile warmed my heart! This man has music in his heart, head and soul all the time and it just comes out and he doesn't care where he is and I loved it! Try it and just maybe it will make you smile and bring music back into your heart where it belongs!

15501462583267 "Musical Souls" http://coconuttimes.com/articles/Beauty-Tips/Musical-Souls     Where do all the talented souls go when they pass? In the past few years the music world has lost some of the greatest talents we have ever known. Surely the powers that be are creating a super mega band because the greatest of the greatest have been taken from us way too soon. Such as Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Glenn Frey, B. B. King, Merle Haggard, Whitney Houston, Natalie Cole and now Prince.
I truly believe that we will never see any more greater talents than these in the years to come! Some of you might disagree with me but just think about where the music world is going these days. The rap / computer tech generation world in which we live now does not have the musical minds or the spark to come up with the great songs such as those published in the past.
As a member of a band and having been in and around this music my whole life, I feel a huge loss. We can only hope that somewhere in the music rooms, studios, and private vaults lie transcripts of songs that have yet to be discovered; treasures just waiting to emerge. Until that happens the songs that they have blessed us with will live on. These and many other icons in the music world will live on in infinity in this ultra tech world we live in today. One can only hope and dream that there will be more young talent that will pick up where these wonderful souls have left off and make us all proud!!!
