Owner Buddy Trala and Sous Chef Trevene (Turk) Howard
bring the feel of the Islands to the West at Sunset Grille.
Actually, yes I can; but I must digress. Last
Wednesday night we went to see Mary Lou & The Untouchables on the deck
of the Sunset Grille’s Teasers Pool Bar. The full menu is available
at the bar as well, so we ordered the Crab Cake Sandwich and the Seared Ahi
Tuna. All I can say about these delicious dishes is Lump Crab and Tuna they
way they are meant to be - the best we’ve had anywhere - moist
and tender and marvelous! Now back to our dinner.
Jed chose from the menu and ordered the Memphis Baby
Back Ribs. Dry rubbed with seasonings, slow roasted, then grilled
over Mesquite Wood, and served with their own housemade Chipotle BBQ
Sauce on the side, this dish is finger lickin’ yummmmy!
Now you know I never skip dessert - the simple
pleasures in life! Well, I was very glad I didn’t skip it this time
either. At the Sunset Grille all their desserts are homemade. Jed chose the
Creme Brulée which was made with fresh vanilla and was most
excellent! I chose the Caramel Cheesecake - another beautiful presentation
- dotted with whipped creme stars, a lively sprig of mint, drizzled with
chocolate syrup and garnished with a fan of sliced strawberries - it was
smooooth and... what is the phrase?... sinfully delicious!
By the way, fresh is the word here and you can taste
it, for sure, here at the Sunset Grille.
There you have it. Everything you need is
right here at the Sunset Grille: lounge - there’s also another
beautiful one upstairs with a patio balcony and “relaxing”
corner with TV (actually there are even TVs in the equally lovely
bathrooms!), restaurant, pool bar with pool, and dock pier. What more
do you need?
So now, whenever you want to get away, forget
airfare and the hassles of traveling. Head for the Sunset Grille where the
service is delightful, the timing impeccable, the cuisine delectable and
the atmosphere serene and lovely. In a word... Paradise.
