Another fabulous group coming to town is Jr. Cline
& the Recliners. M.R. Ducks will feature this group both Saturday and
Sunday afternoons on the bayside deck. If you like that big band
sound complete with horn section, you’ll like this band. Darryl (Jr.)
has a great soulful voice with a quality that just moves me, particularly
on our favorite Van Morrison tunes such as “Tupelo Honey.” Be
sure to pick up one or two of his CD’s when you hear them - good
stuff.
Bird Dog & The Road Kings bring their good-time
music to the Greene Turtle West Sat.
You lookin’ for talent - check out Bird Dog
& The Road Kings. I’m happy that we’ve had them around a
lot this summer. They’ll be playing their brand of rock, some honky
tonk, some country, and some Eastern Shore on their great originals. Get on
over to the Greene Turtle West to hear them Saturday night.
The Purple Moose is just the best party place with
loads of good music every day and night of the week. Full Steam is the band
pumpin’ out the hits this weekend. This band features a female
vocalist who also plays keyboards and is very good. Don’t forget
about the afternoon parties - I know they’ve been packed lately with
the bad weather. Batman throws a great party every Saturday afternoon with
lots of giveaways, and The Other Blues Bro. plays the tunes every other
day. Told ya, music day and night at the Purple Moose, on the Boards.
More good bets for this week: BJ’s on the
Water presents No Byscuyts Fri.-Sat. These guys are just the best at what
they do - and that’s produce excellent music. I guarantee you
can’t be still when they play. It’s fun to hear something
different than just Top 40, too; a little more sophisticated, shall we
say..Tell me what you think.
The Tom Larsen Band is getting around this week.
They are the featured Sat. band at The Harborside where they play as a duo
every Tue. They also will play at Jive on Friday night. I’m anxious
to hear Carl Filipiack playing there on Sat. This man is a nationally known
blues artist who we are fortunate to have the opportunity to hear. And come
back for Daryl Davis on Thursday.
I’m out of steam and outta here!
