General manager Jeff & lovely server Lori keep it light & cheerful at BJ’s on the Water.
Jeannie wasn’t wasting any time on this trip and she went right for the entrées. Her choice was Shrimp and Scallops. Fresh sea scallops that she said were so tender they just melted in her mouth, and jumbo gulf shrimp, so tender and juicy, sautéed in a lemon butter and garlic sauce that made for a tangy, lemony flavor that perfectly complimented this mouth-watering meal.
Speaking of mouth-watering… I decided to go for it and ordered (yes, you guessed it) that massive 1 lb Prime Rib. Well, I don’t think I can do this description justice, but I’ll try. I could smell the savory seasonings rising off this beautiful, one and a-half inch thick cut of beef as it was placed before me. The wonderful aroma filled my olefactories and stirred my senses in a way they haven’t been stirred in years! I could have floated away on the aroma alone without even a bite and been content. However, I wasn’t about to leave it at that! My knife glided through my rib with ease and I brought the first piece to my mouth, and oh! Absolute ecstasy! I savored each divine morsel for as long as possible, and looked forward to each new tender tidbit with great anticipation. Honestly, I haven’t tasted a Prime Rib so satiably savory since 1982! Chef of chefs’ hats off to the chef! Fabulous!
Both Jeanie and I chose a salad, (Caesar and house), and baked potato for our side dishes. The salads, topped with homemade croutons, were crisp and refreshing. Even the baked potatoes were wonderful - hot and tender, and just perfect!
Candy chose rather decisively from the Children’s menu and had Chicken Nuggets with french fries. Her critique? “Mommy, this is good… REALLY good!”
Now, could you ask for more? Why sure you can! The good news is that BJ’s on the Water is also open for lunch with an equally fabulous slew of sandwich selections. But, you know, if it’s lunch time and you’re really in the mood for a full meal, you can get it here because BJ’s special invitation to you is that you can order anything off the menu from opening time at 11 a.m. til closing at 1:30 a.m. And even more good news is that they also have some of the hottest local bands for your listening and dancing pleasure!
So don’t go getting’ into hibernation mode, cuz OUR season is just beginning! And, with the complementing characteristics of both owners, Madlyn & Billy Carder, (lots of quality and class with some big kid fun thrown in), obvious throughout the place, you’re gonna have the best time and some of the best food of your life!
