One memorable moment was the day an unfortunate contestant had the neck-string on her bikini top break at a very inopportune moment on the stage. Sincerely mortified, she quickly and unsuccessfully attempted to re-tie her top.
Always the gentleman, I immediately rushed to her aid, and handed her two Batman Frisbees to be used as a temporary - but quick - fix to her problem, and escorted her off of the stage.
To add to her obvious embarrassment, we then had to tell her that according to the rules we would have to disqualify her from the contest. Three weeks later, with a new bikini, she entered, and won, the competition.

Sadly, we have come to the end of an era. To the end of a tradition that has, over the years, been as much a part of this town’s summers as the White Marlin Open, grads in June, and the firefighter’s parade.
The Ocean Club is closing its doors forever on Labor Day Monday, and with it will go the Best Body on the Beach contest.
But not the memories.
For me, not just memories of my incredible luck of being onstage with hundreds of unbelievably beautiful women (which, I admit, is pretty far up there on the memory scale), but of being invited year-after-year to be a small part of Dr. Berger’s team that has professionally organized this event every single Sunday, every summer. Notably this summer, Ms. Trudi; Sammy; our official photographer "Mercy"; Rob "DJ Naked"; and our sponsors, Clair (SKYY Vodka), and Jody (Budweiser), composed the Best Body Dream Team.

First and second place winners of each week’s contests over this past summer will gather to vie for the first-place grand prize of $2000.00 in cash, and a second-place prize of $1000.00.
