Giving Back... a most important part of life, and something the Ocean City community absolutely shines at doing. Castle in the Sand and Coconuts are very proud to have hosted  two fundraiser this past week.

King of the Castle tournament filled the volleyball court Saturday. Many thanks to organizer MATT ROMANSKI who filled the court with teams from all over the East Coast with all entry fees donated to Surfer’s Healing. WOODY and KAT were on hand to sell tees, hats and jewelry all to benefit this incredible organization that arranges for 100 of our local autistic kids to spend a day on the beach and surf with professional surfers who fly in from Hawaii and California on their own. Our local surfer guys and girls help with getting the kids surf ready and are there to help them in and out of the ocean. Local businesses donate all food and drink for the day, snacks in the afternoon and a dinner for all in the evening. The 7th Annual Joe Mama Day was held on Sunday benefiting our own Believe in Tomorrow House on 66th Street. Once again Coconuts was filled with a sense of purpose… there was a Silent Auction table that stretched the length of our patio… a crazy volleyball ‘Shoot till You Win” game, 50/50 raffle. And of course, Joe Mama Tees, Joe Mama Frisbees and Joe Mama Beer Coolies. Many thanks to over 150 local restaurants, businesses, salons, retailers for their incredibly generous donations and to the locals and visitors alike who helped to raise $14,000.!! Too many volunteers to thank but a special shout out to MARY, KARL and BARB… many thanks also, to our  raffle winners who donated back… ANN, STEVE and   TONI!
