    The scorching weather hasn't kept our old and new friends away! Ex-employees Trish, Renee and Kelly stopped in with their children - we had a lot of fun seeing future BJ's employees Jack, Cooper and Casy.
    Tom and Tracy were in for happy hour on Friday. Friday night brought out Brian and Diane, Jeff and Regina, Mary and Steve (Friday AND Saturday!) CK, Barb and George, Susan, Lou, Kathy Panco and the girls, Wally and Bonnie, Brad, Brian and the crew from next door having a few libations the night before Olivia's birthday, Andy and Linda, Lauren and Steve, Jack and Debbie and many more. Sha, the Mood Swingers and
Lauren Glick dedicated a song to you in your absence. You're going to have to get in here the next time they play! The crowd kept Barry from getting a seat at the bar, it was certainly strange to see him at a table! We also saw Dwight and Steph, Jim and Mel, and Bunk over the weekend.
    It is official, the finals for the Canoe Race have been set for Tuesday August 2nd at noon! The final 6 teams will paddle it out in one race for the Grand Championship. Please come and show your support for your favorite team! The final 6 teams that made it through include... Hooter's #1, Ember's, Ponzetti's, Galaxy 66, Rio Blue Fin, and Reel Inn. This is a coveted title and no one should miss out on the end result!
    There is another reason everyone should stop in this week - we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of Frank Snyder being here with us at BJ's. Please come in and congratulate a true OC legend.

    Great times were had by all this week - it was great to see Mike and Margie on Friday night, along with John, PB Frank, Art, Mr. Weissmueller, Max, Mike and Barry (Fresco's). Moe began his birthday celebration with us on Friday, then extended his birthday through the weekend, and Monday's happy hour to celebrate with Bob and Patty and Bill and Sherry. We also saw our favorite Boston fans quite a few times this week. Tuesday's Canoe Race was a huge success. We had a record-breaking 103 teams enter this year. Thanks to everyone for being a part of it! The rain kept us from finishing unfortunately, but we hope they will continue either this Tuesday or the following Tuesday. The final six teams racing for the championship are Hooter's #1, Embers, Rio Bluefin, Ponzetti's, Reel Inn, and Galaxy. Congratulations and good luck to all!
    Our own team valiantly tried as hard as they could. Many thanks to Nikki, Vanessa, Greenie, and Jared for braving the waters. The day brought lots of familiar faces out to play. Patrick (our very first customer), Greeny (Tequila Mockingbird), Autumn (Hilton), Stephanie (Surf's Up Cafe), Bones, Emilio (Fager's), Chuck (2nd St Pool Bar), Jack Schach, Marco, Richie and Breezy, Joe (M.R. Ducks), and Crystal (Jungle Bar), Nina #1 (Reel Inn), Flapper, Damian, Bonnie (Duffy's), Beth, Jonas, Justin (Embers), and Brittney (Fresco's). We can't leave out Carl and Sandy, Brenda (Coconut Times), the Phillips crew, the Seacrets crew, the Galaxy crew (Danielle - we missed you last year, we're glad to see that you are back), Darryl (Alva's) and his crew, Sean (Greene Turtle North), Tags, Brian, Gary Beach (Micky Fin's), Bull Dog and Kia Watson (98.1) and many, many more. It wouldn't be a Canoe Race without the Hooter's gang in their infamous corner; thanks Matt and Chance, you definitely made my day an eventful one! We can't forget to mention Walt showing up in high style in his circa 1930's swimsuit - always a pleasure. Kirby's softball team made a strong appearance thanks to Johnny Solo, Bojangles, Weimer and Bud Bot.
    We have to thank Carey Distributing for all of their help (even though Gavin was a lightweight).     Norm Welch... we're glad you came out of hiding this week. Speaking of coming out of hiding, it was great to see Patrick and Jim Sullivan. Are you going back to your regular Saturday appearance?
