HEY OC, what's up?  The Boardwalk was rocking last weekend and did we have a blast.  First off  ALMOST QUEEN hit the stage on Thursday night and simply put, they were incredible!  Every week we think the tributes can't get any better and every week they continue to surprise us and blow us away. Locals please make sure you show you local ID to avoid the cover, but please don't take it for granted that our doormen should know you!!!! It was DEW central with all the Skaters and BMX'ers here at the Purple Moose,. They really are a great bunch of guys; friendly, kind and not too hard on the eyes.     Folks, tickets are really moving for COLD on August 9th; gonna be a great show and rebel inc. will be the opening act - should be a fantastic night of music. This weekend Frankie & the Actions will rock the house. These guys truly are so much fun; they make us laugh, and don't even get Frankie started on politics. Sunday and Monday night, Whiskey Train is here, with $1.50 Drafts and great drink specials.  Tuesday and Wednesday night, The Cheaters will jam, lots of energy, so don't miss these guys, and Thursday night’s tribute band (8/4/11) is Odyssey Road a tribute to Journey.     Hey OC. Hope this week finds you well!  For those of you who missed "KICK IT OUT" all I can say is man oh man did you miss an incredible show. I'm still shaking my head cause they were fantastic!!!  Hope you got a chance to see ALMOST QUEEN last night; I'm sure they are gonna rock, and I am so excited to see them (writing this on Wed.).
    So, we are all a wee bit busy down here. The DEW Tour has opened and boy oh boy are there a lot of people. Along with the DEW we have some great entertainment lined up, this weekend. Doc Hollywood takes the stage Friday and Saturday nights. They are lots of fun, so try to get down to check out the tour and the band.   
    COLD is scheduled for August 9th. Their album, "Superfiction," was released on Wednesday the 20th and already is at #2 on the Rock charts. You can also find it on iTunes at #14.  Check it out. Their lead single from the album, "Wicked World," is #25 on the radio. These guys are a litlle heavier and can play some great music. You won't want to miss this show.     Lita Ford is scheduled to hit the Purple Moose stage on August 21, 2011. She has been playing with Tesla and Whitesnake and rocking out wherever she goes - should be a blast.  And finally, FUEL is scheduled for September 1st. For those of you who made this show last year, you know how much fun we all had. Hangovers were enjoyed by all..... NOT! I'll be attending  all  of these shows, but I think I have to retire my big boy pants.  However; I expect each and every one of you to wear yours; somebody has to take one for the team! P.S.  It is with saddened hearts that we say goodbye to Billy Smith. He passed away Wednesday the 20th of July.  Billy and I have been friends for over 25 years. We worked together at Tavern by the Sea and he always made me laugh and always had my back.  He and Ariel (his golden retriever) loved the beach, good friends and laughter. You will be missed my friend, may you find eternal sunshine and puppy dog licks on your nose when you enter paradise.

    WHAZZZZZZ UPPPPPPPP OC? This town is ready to blow the roof off, so much happening, so much to DEW, we gonna burn this mutha out! So here's the info on the DEW Tour for all of you working downtown. First off, we will be cool as a cucumber here at the MOOSE, so when you’re hot and need something cold to drink, you know where to find us. The fence around the place comes down after the construction, only the ticketed areas will be fenced. There will be a DEW Village set up with different types of events, meet and greets, exhibitions and fun stuff for ALL; it will open every day at 11 am. NO FOOD OR DRINK IS SOLD AT THE VILLAGE, so you all better be ready to get your asses handed to ya. Thursday is qualifying day and absolutely free, yeah baby... this thing is sick.  Parking... give it up... ride a bike, cause if you think you gonna find somewhere to park, I have an island located 50 miles east of here to sell ya.
    Oh, and by the way... THURSDAY NIGHT... ALMOST QUEEN, a tribute to QUEEN, will ROCK THE PURPLE MOOSE. Tickets are $15 at the door.  Friday, DAY 2 of DEW Tour, is Semi-Final Day. You must have tickets for this event. Go to Ticketmaster or to the Convention Center to purchase them. They are having a SURF Contest Friday night from 7:30-9:00 pm; check it out, that should be wicked. And after all that is over, come to the PURPLE MOOSE to hear "DOC HOLLYWOOD" to get your freak on, enjoy a cold drink and chill.  Saturday, Day 3, Deja vu!  Sunday, Day 4, Finals... and  you and I  can check in to the funny farm.     Hey OC, summer’s looking good so far; what do you think?  So you know, we all were having our after 4th of July weekend bitch session, and my gang wanted me to share some of their frustrations with you, so me being me, you know I was all over this... so here goes.
    Q1. "Why are the shortcuts to work so crowded nowadays"  A.  Too many people telling others about the shortcuts and maps.  Solution:  QUIT TELLING PEOPLE !!!
    Q2. "Why do people block the intersections and refuse to let us through?"  A.  They had someone else take the written part of the drivers license test, ...oh,  and they’re idiots! Solution:  POST SIGNS AND THEN WRITE TICKETS.  
    Q3.  Why do people curse at us when we say there is a cover charge?  A. They have no manners Solution: Stick your tongue out at them and say, "nan nan nan nan nah!"
    Q4. Why do "locals" not have a local ID? A. ummmmmm, maybe not local.    Solution:  Ask them a question that only a local would know the answer to... like how do you say the name of our county; this one should keep you laughing for a bit.
    Q5. Why do people litter? A. They were raised in a pigsty. Solution: Put a trash can every 4 ft.; oh wait a minute, we already do this. Perhaps hit them in the head like Gibbs does to Denozo.
    Anyway, hope you enjoyed our bit of humor for this week. Now let's get to what's going on at the  PURPLE MOOSE.  Tickets went on sale Thursday for LITA FORD and FUEL. Get them while you can.  This weekend FADED IMAGE is going to Rock this place. If you have ever seen them then you know what to expect. Locals, see you around 1 am., others get here early, because it will be packed. Great Train Robbery featuring Will McIntyre will be here Sunday and Monday nights,  and FUZZBOX PIRANHA on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

    Hey OC, how's everyone feeling this morning? It was great to see so many locals last night, the KIX show was a blast!!!  Thanks go out to "Fuzzbox Piranha" and "Under the Covers" for opening the show.   I hope you all enjoyed yourselves and the hangovers aren't too bad.  Thank You all for supporting our concert series, we could not do it without each and every one of you, so Thanks again! Next up LITA FORD on August 7, 2011.  Tickets go on sale July 7th at 11:00 am. This Lady of Rock has an incredible history of music to share with you, and she really knows how to jam on a guitar, smokin fingers.... should be a great show.
    This weekend the PURPLE MOOSE is gonna rock out with an unbelievable line-up for 4th of July weekend. First up is Surreal, on Friday and Saturday. If you've never seen Surreal then you need to get moving. These guys play the best 80's rock, big hair and all. I am never disappointed when Surreal hits our stage, and neither are our guests.
    Sunday and Monday nights another 80's rock favorite is Alive n Kickin. I'm not sure who hits the highest notes between the two lead singers of Surreal and Alive n Kickin ... let me know what you think. Tuesday and Wednesday nights SLAMM out of Philadelphia will be rocking the MOOSE. These guys are the house band for the Flyers, and they know how to jam; lots of modern rock music for you to enjoy.
    Thursday night is a Tribute to AEROSMITH, with TOYS IN THE ATTIC. Last year we loved these guys and they really know how to put on a great show.  Also a heads up for the weekend of July 8th - FADED IMAGE, FADED IMAGE. Need I say more? Get here early for all these great bands and we are sure you won't be disappointed. As always great drink specials, friendly staff and ice cold beer. We hope to see you soon!
